Curtis Apple Orchard

Curtis Apple Orchard Between football season and the beautiful  colors on the Quad, there is no denying that autumn is the best season at the University of Illinois. But fall is also a time of academic rigor and the peak point of visitation. So if a quick getaway is needed, there is a fabulous hidden gem that is best known to university clubs and Champaign natives: Curtis Apple Orchard. Photo from Instagram Curtis is both an apple orchard and a pumpkin patch and offers pick your own apples, as well as a huge selection of apple goodies, such as apple butters, home decor, and the famous apple donuts. The orchard first began business back in 1873 and has been serving the community ever since.  The activities include apple picking, pumpkin picking, obstacle courses, and pony rides. Gif from Giphy My family has a tradition of apple picking in the fall, so I brought them  to Curtis this fall. They loved everything from the apple selection to the homemade aprons. Rachel Class of 2020 I am studying Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Social Sciences and Literacy in the College of Education. Although I now reside in Champaign, I am originally from Vernon Hills, a Northwest suburb of Chicago.
